Accommodation and food on Kea

In Kea there are hotels, guest houses, clean and well equipped flats or rooms to let. Most of the rooms are in Korissia and other sea resorts on the island such as Gialiskari, Otzias, Pisses and Koundouros. In Pisses, there is also the only camp site operated on the island.

In Ioulis, there are all sorts of restaurants and tavernas. In the centre of the town, in the Platea (square) and Piatsa as well as on the way to the Lion, we find traditional cookshops, tavernas, ouzeri and snack bars. Restaurants, Pizza places, Ouzeri, Pastry shops and Snack bars are also plentiful in Korissia, Vourkari, Otzias, Pisses, Spathi, Koundouros and Kambi. In most of them fresh fish, a selection of snacks and salads and often specialities are served.

The traditional local red wine can usually be enjoyed in houses, especially in the countryside, but can also be found in the central restaurants of Ioulis. However, the traditional barrel retsina is to be found in most of the tavernas on the island.

For a pleasant morning or afternoon outing in Ioulis accompanied by a refreshment sweet or ice-cream, the pastry shop with its excellent view is open as is the central Kafeneio (coffee shop) where ouzo is served in the traditional way.
